REPORTING:
This position is responsible to and reports directly to the Operations Supervisor.
FUNCTION:
The cleaner is responsible for the cleaning duties and minor maintenance in order to
ensure the building and its perimeters are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary
manner.
A. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. All Restrooms- Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, toilet, mirrors, shower stalls, etc. Replenish bathroom supplies
2. Floors- Sweeps, mops, vacuums all floors and carpets except kitchen
3. Trash- Empty all wastebaskets and recyclables
4. Take all Laundry from dorms and operate the washing machine / dryer
5. Window washing
6. Garbage pick-up outside the building
7. Perform Minor Maintenance duties as delegated by Operations Supervisor
8. Report any major maintenance requests to the Operations Supervisor
9. High dusting (cleaning lights, on top of shelves, etc.)
10. Wall washing (1 section per week)
11. Assist with inventory control as delegated by the Operations Supervisor
12. High speeding, stripping and waxing as required
13. Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff, volunteers, & clients
14. Attend all training provided and ensure annual training requirements are up to date
B. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Report all health and safety concerns to an Operations Supervisor or a representative of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee.
2. Take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
3. Work in a healthy and safe manner and wear all personal protective wear that is required
C. QUALIFICATIONS
1. Good communication skills specifically in conflict resolution and nonviolent crisis intervention
2. Previous experience cleaning, and light maintenance
3. Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement, perform job duties with minimal supervision and problem solve
4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, staff, community agencies and the public.
D. HOURS OF WORK: 24 hours per week- Fixed schedule

Salary: $15.50 per hour
