Program:
The YMCA is the largest not-for-profit provider of child care in Canada and the
YMCA of Northern BC is the largest provider in the north, serving: Chetwynd,
Dawson Creek, Fort St. James, Fort St. John, Prince George, Pouce Coupe,
Tumbler Ridge and Vanderhoof. YMCA Child Care is a home away from home.
Responsibilities of this role:
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and report any concerns to Coordinator
- Safely transport children from their schools to their respective centres
- Provide a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for children while ensuring safe
passage to their destination
- Implement a fun, safe and educational program for school aged children following the
standards mandated by the Province of British Columbia, Community Care Regulations
Qualifications:
• Minimum Class 2 Driver’s License or willingness to obtain
- 19 years of age or older (per licensing)
- Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with clear Vulnerable Sector Search & physical
ability to do all duties required
- Current Child Care First Aid, CPR and AED certification or willingness to obtain
- Three professional references (two references pertaining to child care or supervision)
- Current immunization record and TB testing compliance (or willingness to obtain)
- As this position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, preference will be given to
applicants who meet the CSJ Grant criteria
