Job Description
GFL Environmental is looking for a Scale Operator to be based out of our Hanna location! As a Scale Operator, you will measure, weigh and check equipment for the purpose of keeping relevant records.
This is a Full time – Permanent position. Work schedule is 7 On / 7 Off; 12 hours per day.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve customers by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately
Examine and weigh incoming and outgoing trucks
Communicate with on-site crew via radio and advise what truck has on it or is loading out
Maintain and provide updates with GFL loader operators through radio
Provide custom TDG paperwork to outbound trucks
Assist office staff in custodial services and grounds keeping activities
Empty trash daily and ensure appropriate disposing of trash/recycling
Clean and maintain the scale house and surrounding area daily
Other tasks as required
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
A self-starter, motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Strong relationship and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication both verbally and written skills in oral and written English
Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly
Understand emergency and operating procedures
Knowledge of precautions necessary to ensuring a safe work environment with customer and employees
Onsite training will be provided
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office – excel spreadsheets
